Manus AI, what is it?

Manus AI is an autonomous AI agent developed by Monica, launched in March 2025. Unlike traditional assistants, it independently plans, executes, and delivers tasks without step-by-step guidance. It automates workflows like report writing, data analysis, and content generation while integrating with web tools, code editors, and databases.

So far, only a few creators have been invited to their invite-only program. That changes today, as they have announced a monthly subscription plan for $39 and a mobile app. The $39 plan will allow for 3900 credits, while the costlier $199 plan will allow for 19900 credits.

The AI company, while still in beta, has been making rounds on social media after its demo videos went viral. It’s claimed to be able to analyze stock trends, write resumes, complete online purchases, write code, and build web pages from a single prompt.

Meta’s head of AI research to depart the company

Meta

Meta’s Head of AI Research, Joelle Pineau, announced her resignation on April 1, 2025, marking the end of her nearly eight-year tenure. As the leader of Meta’s Fundamental AI Research (FAIR) division, Pineau played a key role in developing AI models like Llama. Her departure comes as Meta ramps up its AI investments, planning to spend up to $65 billion on AI infrastructure. While Pineau cited the need to “create space for others” in her farewell message, her exit follows a trend of high-profile departures from Meta’s AI division. The company has not yet announced her replacement.
