Breaking news: Reuters just announced OpenAI secured a new funding round, with most of the money coming from SoftBank, the same bank that led the funding for the Stargate project for $500bn that was announced earlier this year. This came as no surprise, as OpenAI turning to a for-profit company has been in the talks for a long time. This funding round balloons the company’s valuation to $300 billion. We can expect new premium models coming from OpenAI, banking on its significant brand.
